Hannah Schmidt began her career in public accounting and joined Hamstreet & Associates in 2009. Hannah excels at providing guidance to clients in difficult financial situations; she has acted as the case manager for the American Eagle Mortgage Receivership, interim CFO of a wholesale nursery, and assistant CRO of an online retailer being sold through Chapter 11.
Hannah has worked extensively with companies in Chapter 11 and state court receiverships, assisting in all stages of that process, including closing the books and gathering data needed to file bankruptcy petitions, preparing detailed cash budgets to help manage limited funds, compiling complex claims and distribution information, managing forensic investigations, and conducting due diligence in various contexts.
During her time in public accounting, Hannah worked as an audit manager, where she was responsible for planning, directing, and completing attestation and compliance engagements with both for-profit and governmental entities. Her public sector clients included cities, counties, and housing authorities, while her business experience ranged across a variety of industries with an emphasis in manufacturing and hospitality. Hannah is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA). She received a master’s degree in accounting and a BA in economics and business from Hendrix College and has served as treasurer of the Northwest Chapter of the Turnaround Association and the Community Energy Project.
